What we look for
In Google's PageSpeed Insights test (one lab load of each page), these pages took more than 3 seconds to show their first text or image, a measure called FCP (First Contentful Paint).
Why it matters
Until something appears, visitors see a blank screen and may give up. FCP is not a Core Web Vital, but a slow one usually delays the main content too.
How to fix
Remove or delay the scripts and styles that hold up drawing, in the page template or plugin settings, and speed up the server's first response, for example with caching.
What it cannot know
This is one lab load per page, run on Google's servers. Real visitors' times can differ.
Where you’ll see it
The id is stable, and every surface uses it, so it’s the thing to search for or hand to an agent.
