What we look for

These pages have no links to other pages on the same site, so a visitor or a search engine that lands on one has nowhere further on the site to go.

Why it matters

Search engines discover pages by following links, so a dead end stops the trail, and visitors have to go back or leave.

How to fix

Add links from each page to related pages on the site, or include the site's main menu and footer in its template.

What it cannot know

Links to another host name, even your own subdomain such as shop.example.com, do not count as links within the site.

Seen in a real crawl

From a crawl of the js-heavy fixture, a test site from Raptor’s fixture suite.

Medium

Where you’ll see it

The id is stable, and every surface uses it, so it’s the thing to search for or hand to an agent.

Terminal
When it is one of the five findings under Fix first, raptor crawl prints the id under it.
Check: links.no_internal_outlinks
crawl.json and the CSV
