What we look for
These pages score below 10 on the Flesch reading-ease scale (0 to 100, worked out from sentence and word length, where higher is easier).
Why it matters
Text that scores this low reads like dense academic or legal writing, which many visitors give up on.
How to fix
Shorten long sentences, swap long words for everyday ones and break up long paragraphs, in the CMS where the page text is written.
What it cannot know
The score is built for English prose. Other languages, lists and technical terms can lower it without the page being hard for its readers.
Where you’ll see it
The id is stable, and every surface uses it, so it’s the thing to search for or hand to an agent.
