What we look for
These page titles (the headline shown in search results and browser tabs) are shorter than 30 characters. Only pages search engines may list are counted, and text in wide scripts such as Chinese is skipped.
Why it matters
A very short title often leaves out what the page offers, so it gives searchers and search engines little reason to choose it.
How to fix
Expand each title in the CMS or page template to name what the page offers, for example the product or service and the place, with the most important words first.
Seen in a real crawl
From a crawl of Millbrook Hardware (the broken fixture), a test site from Raptor’s fixture suite.

It also fired on the js-heavy fixture.
Where you’ll see it
The id is stable, and every surface uses it, so it’s the thing to search for or hand to an agent.
