What we look for
These meta descriptions (the summary search engines may show under the title) are shorter than 70 characters. Only pages search engines may list are counted, and text in wide scripts such as Chinese is skipped.
Why it matters
A very short summary leaves out reasons to visit, and search engines are more likely to replace it with text of their own choosing.
How to fix
Expand each description in the CMS or page template to a sentence or two that says what the page offers and why it is worth a visit.
Where you’ll see it
The id is stable, and every surface uses it, so it’s the thing to search for or hand to an agent.
